We savor the essence of our surroundings and find deeper connections. We crave experiencing the real places we’ve only dreamed of. We also need to breathe the air in the quiet, pastoral countryside, feel what it’s like to tread ancient cobblestones and meander in quaint villages.

Your Scottish art journaling experience includes:

• Instruction with Feature Artist Ohn Mar Win

  • Five art instruction sessions with Ohn Mar, illustrating our travel memories in our journals. You’ll learn to set your journal up for on-location success, work with simplifying shapes and forms, illustrate landscapes, food, and work with collage sketching.

• Sketchstrolling with Jane Bumar

  • We’ll sketch on location in some of the most charming local cobblestone lanes in Edinburgh - an all new Sketchstrolling adventure.

Sightseeing

• We’ll explore the bucolic Scottish Borders, all wrapped in autumn splendor, via luxury private vehicle. Kilted Scotsman Brian Collie - owner of Personal Tours of Scotland will guide us on a day trip to scenic vistas for sketching, the stunning Abbotsford Gardens, and the romantic ruins of Melrose Abbey.

• Enjoy a private guided tour of Edinburgh's Royal Mile including the Harry Potter-famous Victoria Street and Greyfriars Kirkyard.

Meals & Drinks

• A welcome lunch in the former home of the author of Wind in the Willows

• Afternoon tea in an elegant hotel with dainty sandwiches, pastries, scones, cakes and tea

• A closing dinner with Scottish fanfare and ceremony

Exploration time

• Plentiful free time to explore and go at your own pace. Plus, you'll be equipped with helpful tips and knowledge on vintage shopping, quaint bookshops, art supplies, & great in-the-know ideas.
